To be able to understand what a good diet is, it’s best to start with the definition of healthy eating. When we say healthy eating, it means consuming the right amount of food from the all the food groups, in such a way that it promotes a healthy lifestyle.
On the other hand, majority of people would associate diet with the regimen that is done in order to lose weight. Actually, diet just refers to the food that we consume in a span of twenty four hours. Therefore, when we say good diet, it refers to the nutritional lifestyle that a person engages in. A good diet promotes good health; thus, good diet should include all the food groups because concentrating only on a certain food group can’t provide all the nutritional needs of the body.
The most important part in healthy eating is having a balanced diet. Balanced diet is good diet. As mentioned earlier, good diet requires consumption of the right amount of foods in all the food groups. According to nutritionists, there are five main food groups.
