It has long been said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. This is a fact yet, a lot of people fail to recognize it and often just disregard it. Breakfast is named as such because it is intended to break the fasting while we were sleeping. A lot of people have been skipping breakfast and is doing it for many years without realizing its importance. Studies have shown that breakfast plays a major role in weight management.
Clinical researchers have also found out that those who are successful in losing weight and keep it from coming back are individuals who are eating a good breakfast, which is usually a high fiber cereal. For those who would like to start eating breakfast again, a good start would be eating a whole grain and high fiber cereal. Through this, you will be able to increase your satiety or fullness resulting to the decrease of consumption of calories for the whole day.
Consumption of fiber is as important as having breakfast; thus, fiber should be consumed at least every meal. To give you ideas, here are some tips to help you consume adequate amount of fiber for the whole day:
Have Oatmeals - Oatmeal is definitely a good source of fiber. It would also make a good breakfast and will provide adequate energy to perform activities. Cinnamon can be added for additional flavoring.
Whole grain bread - When purchasing a whole grain bread, make sure that you check the ingredients first and ensure that it is made from 100% whole-grain flour.
Fruits and Vegetables - Don’t forget to have a daily dose of fruits and vegetables because these are good sources of fiber.
Once you increased your intake of fiber, it is necessary to increase your water intake. It is advised to take at least eight glasses of water a day.
